3Rx12: 3Rx12 - What this blog is about!

3rx12:

2013 found me without any hopes and dreams, and i freaked out. I brainstorm a little bit about my new year resolutions and didn’t have enough ideas nor inspiration. Of course i was going to read and eat and probably make exercise, i didn’t have a concrete goal.

I have always wanted to “learn” to…

The Joy of Books

“After organizing our bookshelf almost a year ago, my wife and I decided to take it to the next level. We spent many sleepless nights moving, stacking, and animating books at Type bookstore in Toronto. Everything you see here can be purchased at Type Books. Grayson Matthews generously composed the beautiful, custom music. But none of it could have been done without all the volunteer hands who shelved and reshelved books all night, every night.” (via Goodreads)

If you love books, and always wondered what went on in your bookstore and library after you locked up for the night - you gotta watch this!

You know you’ve always wondered how those books all got pushed back in a row on the shelf, right?

FOOD FLAGS BY WHYBIN/TBWA

With a library you are free, not confined by temporary political climates. It is the most democratic of institutions because no one - but no one at all - can tell you what to read and when and how.

Whether or not we will want libraries in the future I cannot say, but I can categorically state we will need them, because libraries aren’t just about the books they contain. Moreover, it is a big mistake, in my view, to confuse the future of books or publishing with the future of public libraries. They are not the same thing.

The worst thing you can do to bookworms is to disturb them while reading. If you see us holding a book up our noses, stay away and leave us alone for your own good. No matter how close you are to us, we will be annoyed.
